Eating Disorder and Disordered Eating Recovery
Reclaim Your Relationship with Food and Yourself
An eating disorder often feels like it has taken over your life. It speaks in a loud, critical, even abusive, voice that can feel impossible to ignore, challenge or escape. Living with an eating disorder can reduce your life to constant thinking about food, eating and not eating and attaches your worth to the size of your body. It often results in feelings of shame, confusion, isolation and hopelessness.
But that voice is not you, and you are not your eating disorder. Here, we create a space to separate the eating disorder from who you truly are, fostering a path toward healing and reclaiming a more positive, empowered relationship with food, your body, and yourself.
Eating Disorder Treatment Grounded in Compassion and Expertise
I approach eating disorder treatment from an integrative, holistic therapy framework that blends non-pathologizing, transformative narrative approaches with behavioral and evidence-based modalities. Together, we'll help you understand your eating disorder as a problem separate from yourself—something that can be understood, challenged, and ultimately overcome. This work is complemented by approaches including DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), somatic practices, visualization, and EMDR, ensuring our approach is as unique and multifaceted as you are.

Our work will also emphasize self-acceptance and self-compassion and draw on strengths-based approaches to help you reconnect with your innate qualities, strengths, values, and wisdom, aspects of you that the eating disorder may have taken over. By accessing these internal resources, we build a foundation for lasting healing and resilience and a life of meaning.
What We Can Work On Together

-
Ambivalence and Confusion: Recovery can be a difficult journey, and it’s normal to feel uncertain about whether you want to fully let go of the eating disorder. We’ll explore the push-and-pull feelings that come with wanting to recover but also feeling resistant to change, helping you navigate the ups and downs of recovery and find clarity and balance as you move forward.
-
Body Acceptance: Shift toward a compassionate, accepting and balanced relationship with your body.
-
Intuitive Eating: Reconnect with your body’s natural cues for hunger and fullness, moving away from restrictive or binge patterns.
-
Positive Relationship with Food: Reframe food as nourishment and enjoyment rather than a source of fear or control.
-
All-Consuming Thoughts: Reduce the mental burden of constant thoughts about eating, not eating, and body image.
-
Hopelessness and Shame: Explore the deeper emotions and experiences fueling the eating disorder, fostering hope and self-compassion.
A Holistic Approach to Healing
Eating disorders often arise as coping mechanisms for deeper struggles and pain. Our work together will go beyond surface-level behaviors to address:

-
Past trauma and unresolved emotions
-
Perfectionism and the need for control.
-
Self doubt, feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and chronic stress
By addressing these underlying issues, we can create lasting change and help you move toward a life that feels authentic, joyful, and free. Full recovery is possible, even if it feels daunting or out of reach right now!
Why Work With Me?
I understand how overwhelming the journey to recovery can feel. With years of experience supporting individuals in healing from eating disorders, I bring a combination of empathy, understanding, and expertise to our work together. My role is to walk alongside you, offering steady guidance, compassionate support, and effective strategies as you reclaim your life from the eating disorder’s grip.
A Message of Hope
Healing from an eating disorder is hard, but it is possible. You don’t have to face it alone. Recovery is not about perfection; it’s about progress, self-discovery, and building a life where food and body image no longer consume your every thought. Return to the completeness of who you are and what life is about, beyond what you ate in a day or the number on the scale. Together, we can make that life a reality.
