Deep healing of trauma and Emotional Pain

EMDR therapy provides a powerful way to reduce the impact of past traumatic or psychologically distressing events on clients' wellbeing. EMDR addresses issues and supports healing at a deeper emotional, physical and neurobiological level through the reprocessing and desensitization of distressing events.
EMDR often provides healing and a level of change that is not achieved through talk therapy alone. Many clients experience a significant reduction in their current experience of distress or unresolved trauma as well as deeply enhanced feelings of personal worth and increased enjoyment of and engagement with life.

In addition to healing trauma and distressing past experiences, EMDR is broadly effective and can be an important adjunct to talk therapy in treating issues including eating disorders, anxiety, depression and low self esteem. EMDR can facilitate important shifts in experiences and emotions that have been stuck, allowing clients to more effectively address and make significant progress with longstanding issues. Clients are able to align body, cognitions, and emotion, enabling them to embody their preferred selves more deeply and more consistently.

My clients have described their experience with EMDR in life changing ways including feeling at peace, secure in who they are and as if a tremendous burden they have carried has been lifted. They are able to separate and feel emotional distance and relief from the distress of painful memories and events that have haunted them for years.

I completed my EMDR training through EMDR founder Francine Shapiro's highly-regarded EMDR Institute. The EMDR Institute provides the gold standard for EMDR therapy, reflecting best practices and fidelity to empirically supported approaches and protocols. The training process included case consultation with therapists trained and mentored by Francine Shapiro directly. This rigorous foundation best ensures reliable, effective, and evidence-based care to support your healing and growth.
